Half Moon Bay, CA

Half Moon Bay is a quaint, eclectic little town full of art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. A great destination there is the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton that sits on a bluff nearby and overlooks the Pacific and Half Moon Bay. It’s about 25 miles from SFO and 35 miles from Silicon Valley.
Did I already say it’s a gorgeous hotel? It’s magnificent too. Perched on the Cliffside it feels like you’re at a castle in Scotland overlooking the sea but are in fact at picturesque Half Moon Bay. The outstanding accommodations consist of a main building and separate cottages.
Inside the Ritz is the very elegant Navio Restaurant. Like other fine dining experiences, you can expect a leisurely meal, good food, wine, and perfect service. What’s special is the restaurant has unobstructed views of the bluffs and the Pacific Ocean right from your table.
We had a great room overlooking the golf course and the ocean. Luxurious and comfortable, the room has every thing one would want plus, there's a fire pit that's nice to sit near on those cool HMB evenings. Also, you can get graham crackers and chocolate to make s’mores over the fire pita long with your wine and cocktails. Just a little decadent.
The brunch buffet at the Ritz is super and very popular. Brunch has two seatings, and you definitely need to call ahead for a reservation. They have a carving station for lamb and prime rib, chefs for sushi and sashimi, but a favorite is the caviar - there are 3 types with a fresh bellini station and all the trimmings… it’s extraordinary, a buffet with all you can eat caviar! The Champagne flights were nice too.
If you’re lucky with the weather, this is one of the most spectacular spots you’ll find anywhere. It’s right on the 7 mile coastal trail, it has beautiful views and has many outdoor activities.
Highly Recommended!
